Pictures at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is a photographer’s paradise. Whether you’re in search of landscapes of water and open marsh, views of the skyline of Atlantic City, or images of the 1000’s of birds that inhabit the Refuge, you’ll discover all of it on this particular place.

Migrating Waterfowl

The Refuge is positioned alongside the Atlantic Flyway. Each migration season brings 1000’s of birds right here for a relaxation cease whereas on their approach north or south – relying on the season. Atlantic brant, American black duck, Canada geese, snow geese, all of them come right here.

Osprey

Osprey return every spring to the Refuge. The males arrive round St. Patrick’s Day to take a look at and make enhancements to their nest. A few weeks later the females arrive and the annual elevating of the younger begins anew. Osprey might be seen of their nests on the Refuge from the Wildlife Drive and the Osprey overlook on the Boardwalk. Egrets & Herons

Egrets and herons abound within the Refuge within the spring, summer time, and fall. Easily acknowledged by their elongated necks and legs, these birds are discovered within the shallow waters across the Refuge, stalking their fish prey with infinite endurance. They are a favourite of photographers in search of nice wildlife footage.
