UK spy company releases malware-blocking gadget for HDMI and DisplayPort cables — SilentGlass blocks malicious visitors touring between show and pc

The UK’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), a counterpart to the U.S.’s National Security Agency (NSA), simply launched SilentGlass by the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC). This little gadget was introduced throughout CYBERUK, a government-sponsored cyber safety convention, and is designed to dam malicious visitors touring between a show and a PC. According to the NCSC, it constructed and designed this plug-and-play gadget to guard authorities estates and has been “approved for use in the most high-threat environments.”

The authorities has since licensed the design to Goldilock Labs, a UK-based cybersecurity agency that makes a speciality of {hardware} that routinely cuts bodily connections throughout a cyberattack, limiting potential harm to a community. It has partnered with Sony UK Technology Center to make the product accessible globally, though the agency has but to place the product publicly accessible available on the market.
