CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving head coach, Joey Ferreri, has announced the second new addition to his coaching staff adding diving coach, Daniel Pinto.

“I am excited for the opportunity to join the program and become part of the Cincinnati community, and I would like to thank Joey for the trust he has placed in me,” Pinto said. “Throughout my coaching career, I have been fortunate to work with athletes at every level of the sport, from beginners learning their first dives to Olympians competing on the international stage. Those experiences have shaped my belief that success is built through accountability, consistency, and a shared commitment to excellence. I am passionate about helping student-athletes reach their full potential both in and out of the pool, and I look forward to working alongside this great staff while contributing to the continued success of the program.”

Before arriving at Cincinnati, Daniel served as an Assistant Coach at Virginia Tech while also leading competitive and developmental athletes as the Head Coach of New River Diving. In those roles, he assisted with athlete development, training design, competition preparation, and recruiting efforts.

Prior to Virginia Tech, Daniel spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach at the University of Arizona. Where he gained valuable experience under Olympic coach Dwight Dumais.

Daniel also coached at the University of Florida, Gator Dive Club, and Alachua County Schools, working with athletes of all ages and skill levels. His coaching philosophy emphasizes accountability, consistency, and helping student-athletes reach their full potential both in and out of the pool.

Daniel graduated from the University of Louisville in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish Linguistics.
