Matt Schaeffer Named Assistant Swimming Coach

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Matthew Schaeffer has been named an Assistant Coach of the Cleveland State males‘s and ladies‘s swimming groups, as introduced by head coach Trent Richardson.

Schaeffer arrives after spending the final two seasons at Case Western Reserve University. In his two seasons, he assisted in 19 All-Americans (12 from the ladies’s workforce and 7 from the lads’s workforce).

Both seasons, the Spartans completed high 35 nationally with every workforce‘s greatest end coming in his first season: girls‘s workforce seventeenth and the lads‘s workforce twenty fifth (greatest end in 27 years).

Schaeffer started his teaching profession at Connecticut College for 2 seasons, aiding in 4 All-Americans, together with the 2024 CSCAA Division III Swimmer of the Year. Outside of the pool, he was instrumental in ten athletes incomes CSCAA Scholar All-American recognition.

Schaeffer, an Ohio native, earned a Bachelor of Arts in knowledge science at Wittenberg University in 2022.
