What a Weekend in New York – IRL Community Everywhere I Looked
How’s this for irony? I’m dropping this Work 20XX episode after spending final weekend in Manhattan. One the best collections of social gatherings, neighborhood, and shared expertise I’ve been a part of, a bunch of occasions all taking place concurrently, and we had been proper in the midst of it.
From the comparatively small neighborhood, The New York Exiles (Women’s Elite Rugby), followers and neighborhood, my daughter’s skilled rugby workforce, pulling off a tough wone, big upset win over the primary workforce within the league.
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ – Canada, Mexico and the United States kicked off in New Jersey, Morocco versus Brazil, and the streets had been stuffed with guests from two different continents.
And then, the once-in-50-years New York Knicks taking the National Basketball Association (NBA) Championship in 5. The metropolis simply exploded in pleasure, shared enthusiasm, and shared neighborhood.
It was Puerto Rican Heritage Weekend with the Festival Block Party on Saturday, and the Parade on Sunday. Puerto Rican pleasure on show, flags and cheers in every single place.
Pride Month can be getting underway, so a number of actions, flags, there too,
So many occasions bringing neighborhood collectively from everywhere in the world to mingle in actual life
Every time we stepped into an elevator on the lodge we met somebody new – from Morocco, Brazil, someplace over an ocean. So many languages spoken in a single metropolis. We’re social by nature, and an funding in constructing social ties pays off on many fronts.
Did it really feel Important? Powerful? Heartfelt? Emotional? Connected? Yes.
Why, we’re wired for it!
