South West Coast Path Photographer of the Year competitors

These beautiful photographs from the South West Coast Path Photographer of the Year competitors present the various great thing about our area’s dramatic shoreline

The lovely picture above, titled Golden Hour Magic was taken at Burgh Island within the South Hams by Charisse Wold and was among the many profitable photographs within the South West Coast Path’s 2025 pictures competitors.

Explaining why it was named winner of the South West Coast Path Team Pick class, SWCP nationwide path officer Lorna Sherriff says: ‘When I first noticed this picture, it instantly drew me in and I felt as if I used to be sitting on the coast, experiencing the sundown myself.

It conveys a powerful sense of tranquillity and peace, capturing a magical second because the younger particular person relaxes and connects with the coast, creating a long-lasting reminiscence.’

Taken at nightfall, simply because the lights have switched on, there’s a heat glow that runs alongside the homes, the seafront, and the bridge, tracing the strains and shapes of the city.

‘The photograph highlights the geometry of the place, showing a side of Lynmouth that feels both familiar and freshly seen.’
