Lead DS CEL (Journey) | GDIT

The Lead DS CEL evaluates, designs, and oversees telecommunications rooms (MDF/IDF/CELs), together with racks, bonding/grounding, electrical, cooling, cable pathways, and compliance with AF/SF and UFC requirements. This position manages GDIT, Agency, and Subcontractor groups performing web site surveys, rack builds, grounding, cabling, electrical, and community gear installations.

GDIT is in search of Lead DS CEL to assist help our ongoing BIM contract. Hiring location will likely be distant however would require roughly 75%-100% journey. Working location will likely be on web site supporting the each day implementation efforts at Eielson Air Force Base, Fairbanks Alaska.

How a Lead DS CEL Will Make an Impact:

• Conduct surveys documenting energy, cooling, bonding/grounding, pathways, and room readiness
• Develop format designs together with rack plans, cable administration, grounding/bonding, electrical circuits, and gear placement
• Manage GDIT, Agency, and Subcontractor labor performing room buildouts, rack set up, cable routing, and grounding
• Ensure compliance with UFC, TIA/EIA, I3A, and DOD telecommunications room requirements
• Coordinate with base civil engineering for facility upgrades or modifications
• Support web site set up of latest fiber, CAT6, WIFI, CEL closet options to incorporate however not restricted to cupboards, change node answer, UPS and energy options.
• Work intently with Network, Fiber Optic, ISP, and OSP groups for integration of infrastructure
• Participate in design critiques and buyer briefings as a SME

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• BA/BS or equal, 5+ years of expertise
• 4–7 years’ expertise with telecommunications rooms, knowledge middle buildouts, or ISP infrastructure
• Experience managing cabling, rack set up, or structured cabling groups
• Knowledge of grounding/bonding, energy specs, gear requirements, and room environmental necessities
• Experience with AFCENT, AFNET, or equal DOD telecom environments (most well-liked)
• Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing or upgrading MDF/IDF areas
• Experience studying and producing telecom room drawings

Certifications (Preferred)

• BICSI Technician, Installer 2, or RCDD
• Security+ CE (8570 requirement)
• FOA CFOT (useful for fiber termination work)
