Automobile crashes close to swimming pool at north Fort Worth house

A car crashed into the fence of a north Fort Worth home, narrowly missing three children playing in the backyard Sunday evening, police said.

Fort Worth police officers responded about 7 p.m. to the crash at a house near the 1500 block of Heritage Trace Parkway, police said in a statement.

When officers arrived, they found the car that had collided with the fence. The vehicle’s front passenger was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, police said.

While police said the homeowners were not injured, the family told KTVT-TV that the car narrowly missed a toddler and two other children who were playing in the backyard swimming pool.

In surveillance video shared by the family, the car is seen nearly striking the 2-year-old child who was walking near the fence. The parents said it was an act of God that their child was not hit, the CBS Texas station reported.

The parents can be seen in the video rushing toward their children as the car smashes through the fence.

The unidentified driver was cited for reckless driving, according to police.
