BANANA COMES TO BIRMINGHAM

Banana Ball introduced a mixture of baseball and showmanship to Birmingham this weekend, drawing followers to historic Rickwood Field for a matchup that includes two of the league’s latest groups.

Fans packed into the Magic City ballpark wanting to see the Indianapolis Clowns and the Loco Beach Coconuts, and a few mentioned the prospect to expertise the sport at Rickwood made it much more particular.

Josiah Sutton, a Banana Ball fan, mentioned, “mom said wouldn’t it be cool if we could actually see a game and now we are getting to”

Spencer Jones, also a Banana Ball fan, called Rickwood “an iconic field” and mentioned, “being from Birmingham this is an iconic field I got to actually play on it when I was in high school but having it here and just getting to come over here and showing these guys this field is pretty cool.”

Jones added, “I enjoy this sport and I love baseball and I love showing these guys the sport and I actually coach both of them so so they had a tournament last week and they played on Sunday. This week we wanted to go out and catch some pros playing.”
