Huntsville Parks & Recreation spooking up frightfully enjoyable Halloween lineup

Parks & Recreation is brewing up a scary enjoyable lineup of fall festivals and Halloween occasions, welcoming all ghosts, ghouls, witches and pleasant monsters to hitch in on the enjoyable.

The fifth annual Halloween Party & Haunted House shall be Friday, Oct. 23, from 6-9 p.m. on the Jaycee Building in John Hunt Park. Attended by 1000’s of Halloween revelers, the occasion is a collaboration with the Huntsville Police Department.

All Halloween occasions in October are FREE to attend and costumes are inspired:

• Boo Bash: Thursday, Oct. 22, 5-7:30 p.m., Brahan Spring Recreation Center
• Monster Mash: Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. to midday, Mark Russell Recreation Center
• Gloween: Tuesday, Oct. 27, 5:30-8:30, Max Luther Community Center
• Fang-Tastic Family Fun Fest: Wednesday, Oct. 28, 5-8 p.m., Optimist Recreation Center
• Howling on The Moon: Thursday, Oct. 29, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Sandra Moon Community Complex
• Haunted Hallways and Fall Festival: Thursday, Oct. 29, 5-8 p.m., Cavalry Hill Community Center
• STEM-O-WEEN: Friday, Oct. 30, 5-7:30 p.m., West Huntsville Recreation Center
• Fall into Fun Festival: Friday, Oct. 30, 5-7:30 p.m., Fern Bell Recreation Center
• Spooktacular Fall Festival: Friday, Oct. 30, 5:30-8 p.m., Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Recreation Center
• Frightful Fun Fest: Saturday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., Lakewood Community Center

“Each fall, we look forward to providing safe and fun Halloween experiences for kids and families across the city,” mentioned Director James Gossett. “It’s always fun to see kids enjoy the activities and games at each event, but nothing beats seeing their faces light up when they get to the candy.”
