Lafigido Ruling House Boosts Local Vigilante Efforts with High-Tech Security Donation in Osun

The Lafogido Heritage Foundation, representing the Lafogido ruling house of Ile-Ife, on Friday, provided communication devices, including a renovated security office, to a local vigilante group aimed at addressing insecurities and other illicit activities in the area.

During the donation, Prince Adeyemi Ademiluyi, President of the Lafogido Heritage Foundation, stated that this initiative was taken to combat criminal actions and regulate undesirable behaviors in the community.

He asserted that all essential measures had been established to guarantee resilient security structures that would serve as safeguards for everyone.

In addition to this, the president emphasized that ensuring proper security would encourage the influx of tourists to the town.

As per his statements, the Lafogido ruling dynasty has taken proactive steps in providing leadership in enhancing security and economic consciousness for the historic town.

“Our choice to offer this assistance to the local security group is due to their closeness to the community. They are familiar with every area of the locality and understand the residents and their mindset,” he remarked.

The Lafogido ruling dynasty, however, urged other ruling houses to cooperate with all stakeholders in the town to elevate Ile-Ife to its rightful global stature, being the birthplace of the Yoruba ethnic group.

“This heritage should serve as a focal point for the over 40 million Yoruba individuals across the globe, but security is crucial in attracting eager tourists worldwide,” he highlighted.

In a show of gratitude, the OSUN state police command, an integrated vigilante group, Ile-Ife Chapter, under the leadership of Alhaji Isah Akorede, expressed their appreciation to Lafogido Heritage Foundation-Lafogido Ruling House for the re-commissioning of the OSPCHVG Ife chapter’s Edena Office.

Alhaji Akorede stated, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to you, Lafogido Heritage Foundation, for earnestly and sincerely upgrading the OSPCHVG Edena Office to meet International Standards.

“As we all understand, the matter of security is the responsibility of everyone to mitigate the crimes committed by miscreants to ensure a peaceful and harmonious environment in Ile-Ife and its surroundings.

“The OSPCHVC, Ile Ife Chapter was established around 2004 when criminals, robbers, etc., took advantage of the situation to commit heinous acts, such as raping females, robbing, and harassing individuals.

“We members swiftly convened to rescue Ile-Ife and its surroundings from these malevolent actions,” he concluded.
