Leading season times were recorded in every event Saturday as the initial month of the high school swimming season concluded with contests at the Elkhorn Invitational and the Knight Invitational arranged by Lincoln Southeast.
Omaha Marian and the Elkhorn boys secured the team championships at the Elkhorn Invite conducted at Common Ground, while the Omaha Westside girls and Lincoln East boys clinched top placements at the Knight Invite.
The triumph by the Spartans boys was the slimmest of the day, with East narrowly surpassing Westside 417-407. Missouri recruit Jadeon Carter from East claimed victory in two individual events—the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.05) and the 500 free (4:41.96).
There were two additional male swimmers who succeeded in two individual events at the Southeast meet. Mason Zadina of Millard South secured the 50 free (21.58) and the 100 butterfly (51.15) while Lincoln East’s Carson Agnew triumphed in the 100 freestyle (48.65) and 100 breaststroke (56.83).
