Triumphant Trio: Bonney, Srinivasan, and Stanford Shine as Academic All-MAC Winners!

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Student-athletes from Eastern Michigan University in volleyball, Kendal Bonney, Surabhi Srinivasan, and Abby Stanford, received Mid-American Conference (MAC) Academic All-MAC honors as the conference unveiled the 2024 Volleyball Academic All-MAC Team, which includes 83 student-athletes on Monday, Dec. 30.
 
The Academic All-MAC recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have excelled both in sports and studies. To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participate in a minimum of 50 percent of the events for their specific sport.
 
This recognition marks the first for all three student-athletes. Stanford (Zanesville, Ohio/Tri Valley/Ashland) led with an impressive 4.00 cumulative GPA while majoring in psychology. Following her was Srinivasan (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome), who achieved a 3.83 GPA while studying mathematics/secondary education. Completing the list for the Eagles was Bonney (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central/Ashland), maintaining a 3.75 GPA with a major in elementary/early childhood teaching & learning.
 
Bonney and Stanford’s achievements represent their second academic accolade of the season, as both were recently recognized as College Sports Communicators Academic All-District for the first time in their careers on Dec. 17.
