Liberty Flames Ignite Excitement for Bahamas Bowl Showdown with Buffalo!

As Liberty University Football aims for its sixth successive bowl appearance, a Bahamas Bowl clash awaits against MAC adversary Buffalo on Saturday, giving Flames supporters various chances to engage in the excitement.

The showdown will showcase two teams with eight wins, striving to conclude the 2024 season with a triumphant note. The event will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN2 live from Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. The kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. EST.

Liberty wrapped up the regular season with an 8-3 record, comprising a 5-3 performance in Conference USA play. With the team featuring several newcomers after some prominent players opted out of the match, Head Coach Jamey Chadwell emphasized the significance of this game in finishing the prior season while also gearing up for the 2025 campaign.

“Our team is thrilled about competing and intends to wrap up this season appropriately,” he stated during a press conference on Dec. 17. “Clearly, many players are returning. This serves as an opportunity for them to establish the momentum for the upcoming season. Achieving a victory before heading into the offseason is essential. … Our squad is eager about what this can mean for this year’s group, the legacy they can forge, and also how it can further the program in the future.”

Attendees of the match are encouraged to rally in the Liberty fan section at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, where they will receive commemorative badges from Flames Club and Ticket Office personnel showcasing their graduation year and affiliation.

“I am so utterly thrilled to be attending the Bahamas Bowl and supporting the Flames,” expressed Liberty parent Amy Skelton. “I attended the Cure Bowl in 2020 and had an amazing time, even being fortunate enough to make some lifelong friendships in the process. It is absolutely unbelievable that we have the chance to take a cruise ship to the Bahamas for a Bowl Game. … I am confident the Flames will give it their all, and we will be cheering them on the entire time.”

Fans journeying to the match were invited to board one of two different Royal Caribbean cruises heading to Nassau, arriving on game day. Utopia of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas depart on Jan. 3 from Orlando, Fla., and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., respectively. Ground transport from each cruise was available for acquisition through the Liberty Flames website. Passengers aboard Liberty of the Sea can also join various informal Flames fan gatherings to connect with other Liberty enthusiasts aboard the ship.

Supporters were also invited to secure accommodations at Comfort Suites Paradise Island or the team hotel at the Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas, both of which could be booked through the Liberty Flames Club website.

The Flames Club plans to host an exhilarating fan event on Friday, Jan. 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Atlantis Hotel, allowing Liberty followers to interact with Liberty administrators and fellow supporters who traveled for the bowl game. Participants will also be able to collect their fan credentials and game tickets from the Ticket Office staff, obtaining exclusive Bahamas Bowl merchandise, including stickers, sunglasses, and other promotional items.
