Fran Nachlas crosses $400K for Boca Raton Mayor’s bid

Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Fran Nachlas’ bid to take away the “deputy” qualifier from her title handed a serious milestone: She has now raised greater than $400,000.

In the final quarter, Nachlas’ camp says she added virtually $77,500 between her campaign account and political committee, Fran For BocA.

Combined along with her prior beneficial properties since she entered the race in late April, her whole haul is about $412,570.

It’s a powerful haul, and one her marketing campaign says is proof of “broad enthusiasm for Nachlas’ vision of keeping Boca Raton safe, resident-focused, and economically strong.”

The marketing campaign credited residents, small-business house owners and group leaders for her Q3 fundraising success.

“I’m so grateful for the continued outpouring of support from across our community,” Nachlas stated in an announcement.

“People in Boca Raton want a Mayor who listens, leads with practical solutions, and puts residents first. Our campaign is built on those values — and that’s why our momentum continues to grow.”

Nachlas was named Boca’s Deputy Mayor in March. She is a previous Chair of the Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency and member of the Boca Raton Community Advisory Council. She now serves on the Palm Beach County Transportation Planning Agency Governing Board, Florida League of Cities Development, Code Compliance and Redevelopment Committee along with her City Council duties.

Official marketing campaign finance reviews from native and state candidates for the interval between July 1 and Aug. 30 are due Friday.

As of this writing, neither Nachlas nor Boca Raton Council member Andy Thomson, who announced his candidacy for Mayor in early April, have filed their official reviews. Thompson raised about $117,000 final quarter, or about 35% of what Nachlas took in with much less fundraising runway.

Nachlas is a Republican. Thomson is a Democrat, as is a 3rd mayoral candidate, Bernard Korn, who can also be operating a separate marketing campaign for Seat A on the City Council.

Through Aug. 30, Korn, a former police officer and trainer who beforehand mounted two unsuccessful campaigns for the Council’s Seat C, reported elevating $2,000 for his mayoral bid and $5,400 towards his City Council marketing campaign. All got here from his checking account.

The three are competing to switch Mayor Scott Singer, who should go away workplace because of time period limits.

Boca Raton’s municipal election is on March 10, 2026.
