The Humboldt Literacy Project will host an “Adult Spelling Bee” Thursday from 6 to eight p.m. Phatsy Kline’s, situated contained in the Historic Eagle House, Second and C streets, Eureka. Registration is $5 and begins at 5:30 p.m.

Contestants will face off in three rounds of 5 phrases every, testing their spelling expertise and wit underneath strain. The high spellers will earn prizes, bragging rights and the title of “Humboldt’s Best Speller.”
