Jon Leo Woods, 80, of Muscatine, handed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, on the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics surrounded by his household. Services might be held at a later date with burial within the Greenwood Cemetery. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for Jon’s household and preparations. Jon L. Woods was born on March 9, 1945, in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Ernest Dean and Dorothe Lee (Baker) Farmer. Following his father’s passing in WWII, Jon was adopted by Harold E. Woods. Jon was a 1963 graduate of Sigourney High School. He proudly served his nation within the United States Army from October 17, 1966 – September 29, 1969, through the Vietnam War. Jon was united in marriage to Alynne Lord on April 28, 1973 and later divorced in February of 1990. He later married Sheilah Street on May 4, 1991 and separated in 2011, divorcing in 2014. Jon was a common supervisor for Hy-Brand Industrial Contractors for a few years. He was a member of the Master Gardeners, Muscatine V.F.W. and Bloomington Friends Church. Jon loved pictures, music, exhibiting horses together with his first spouse, Alynne, stamp gathering, had a love for animals, particularly his cat Stormy, and was an avid fan of Iowa Girls Basketball and the Harlem Globetrotters.
Jon might be deeply missed by his youngsters, Joshua (Kate) Woods of West Liberty, Kimberly (Trey Kauffman) Woods of Wapello and Jennifer Woods of Saginaw, Michigan; three grandchildren, Camden Latimer, Joey Woods and Mia Woods, one grandchild on the best way, Ruby Kauffman; siblings, twin brother, Don (Pauline) Woods of Parker, Colorado, Hal (Barb) Woods of Columbus Junction, Jan (Dan) Conner of Muscatine, Bob Woods of Muscatine and Kay (Vince) Ruggiero of Ankeny and plenty of nieces and nephews.
Jon was preceded in loss of life by his dad and mom and two grandchildren, Micah and Kilenne Woods, in addition to many pets.
