Physique discovered close to Davenport confirmed by household to be swimmer killed in Lovers Point shark assault

A physique found close to the Davenport shoreline has been recognized as Erica Fox, 55, of Monterey County, who went lacking per week in the past whereas swimming at Lovers Point in Pacific Grove following a suspected shark assault.

Crews recovered a physique from close to Red, White and Blue Beach about 4 miles south of Davenport after a witness reported it Saturday morning, Cal Fire CZU unit spokesperson Cecile Juliette informed Lookout on Monday.

Neither Juliette or Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Ryan Farotte would verify the identification of the deceased individual. However, Fox’s father, James Fox, confirmed over the weekend that it was her physique, based on a NBC Bay Area report. 

Fox’s husband, Jean-Francois Vanreusel, informed the Bay Area News Group that regulation enforcement knowledgeable him that her physique was recognized by her watch and the shark band on her ankle, an electromagnetic system meant to fend off sharks. Vanreusel was solely a brief distance behind her within the water when a shark breached and Fox disappeared.
