Florida State College declares Spring 2026 exhibitions and group programming

Student and Faculty Research

The WJB Gallery continues to host “A Place Within,” a curatorial lab challenge co-curated by artwork historical past doctoral candidates Estefania Santiago and Sara I. Rodríguez Rivera.

The Department of Art will current three student-focused rotations within the FAB Gallery:

• Feb. 5-26: “Horizon: Speculative Worlds and Interdisciplinary Research” (IDEA Grant and Honors within the Major recipients).

• March 5-26: Undergraduate sculpture exhibition.

• April 6-23: Photography scholar exhibition.

In addition, the Facility for Arts Research will host “Lay of the Land,” an exhibition and symposium that includes Department of Art school, on Feb. 20.

February Highlights

Experimental Cartography Workshop | Feb. 10 & 12 Researcher and artist Moses März leads a three-session workshop at MoFA introducing contributors to different mapping and narrative buildings. Sessions run Tuesday from 10 a.m. to three p.m. and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is required.

Visualizing a Politics of Relation | Feb. 13 Experts and college students are invited to the Fine Arts Building, Room 249, from 4:30 to six:30 p.m. for a seminar responding to the Glissant Maps challenge.

Valentine’s Day “Take-and-Make” | Feb. 14 Visitors can drop by MoFA between 11 a.m. and three p.m. to create free woven bracelets impressed by favourite artworks.

Make it with MoFA: Accordion Books | Feb. 19 Inspired by the “Water Ways” exhibition, the museum will host two book-making periods at 3 and 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Lay of the Land Symposium | Feb. 20 Held on the Facility for Arts Research, this occasion explores panorama complexity with a symposium from 2 to five:30 p.m. and a gap reception from 6 to eight p.m.

Art within the Library: Art Crawl | Feb. 26 This multi-location occasion runs from 12:30 to three:30 p.m., shifting from MoFA to the Dirac Science Library and concluding on the Seminole Organic Garden. Following the crawl, MoFA hosts the “Water Ways” closing reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Artist Workshop with Wilson Bowers | Feb. 27 From midday to three p.m., contributors can be a part of Seminole artist Wilson Bowers at MoFA to create a collaborative portray for the FSU Native American and Indigenous Studies Center.

March and April Events

Storytime Studio | March 7, April 4 & May 2 Families are invited to MoFA from 10 a.m. to midday on choose Saturdays for storytime and art-making actions tailor-made for youthful guests.

Make it with MoFA: Basket Weaving | March 12 Inspired by the “Woven Worlds” exhibition, this workshop gives periods at 3 and 5:30 p.m. No expertise is critical and all supplies are supplied.

MFA Thesis Exhibitions | April 10 & 16 The museum celebrates graduating Master of Fine Arts college students with a gap reception on April 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. On April 16, the College of Fine Arts Leadership Council hosts a Meet and Greet and the launch of SIX Magazine from 5 to 7 p.m.

Curator Talk: “Like everything alive…” | April 23 Curators Elizabeth Diggon, Naomi Potter and Shauna Thompson will talk about the museum’s foremost exhibition in a digital format at 6 p.m. Registration is required.

May Programming

Origami Workshop with Miya Turnbull | May 14 Artist Miya Turnbull leads a digital origami workshop for in-person company at MoFA from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Tallahassee Watercolor Society Opening | May 28 The museum hosts the opening reception for the thirty eighth Tri-state Juried Watercolor Exhibition, juried by Don Andrews, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
