Ariarne Titmus lands main TV position with Channel 7 after swimming retirement, Commonwealth Games, newest swimming information

Australia’s golden woman – who retired in October in an announcement that rocked the swimming world – will be part of Seven’s protection as a blended zone reporter, interviewing swimmers on the pool deck after their races on the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

“I’m so excited,” Titmus mentioned on Channel 7’s Sunrise on Friday.

“It’s going to be great to be on pool deck. It’s actually my first international meet where I’ll be on pool deck cheering, but also speaking to the athletes after their races. So I’m really looking forward to it.”

Titmus mentioned the chance would permit her to stay a part of the game and provides audiences a extra private look into the lives of swimmers and what it takes behind the scenes.

“It’s really exciting … I’m looking forward to being amongst the atmosphere again and helping tell athletes’ stories right after they race,” she mentioned.

“My job is to make them feel comfortable and bring people at home along for the journey.

The 25-year-old has given Australia some of its most memorable moments in the pool, winning four Olympic gold medals across the Tokyo and Paris Olympics on top of her seven Commonwealth Games gold medals and countless more silver and bronze medals.

And her new role allows her to continue to be around the pool without the rigorous schedule of a professional athlete.

It will also give her a unique opportunity to team up with her father, veteran sports presenter Steve Titmus, at the upcoming Games.

“During my career, I had so much respect for the mixed zone reporters that we regularly met with post-race, including Nathan Templeton, Giaan Rooney and so many more. To have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps for such an important international event is very exciting,” Titmus mentioned in an announcement saying the transfer.

“The Commonwealth Games mean so much to the athletes competing and I cannot wait to be on deck to deliver more incredible historic moments from the pool, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.”

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will start on July 24 and run by to August 3.
