Today marks a serious milestone in my sabbatical journey: I’ve arrived in Folkestone, UK to try a solo swim throughout the English Channel! 🏊♀️✈️

If you requested me 5 years in the past if I’d ever try the complete International Triple Crown, my reply would have been an emphatic no! But the Bay Area swimming group has a sneaky manner of offering confidence when there’s none! I accomplished the 20 mile Catalina Channel in 2025, and the 28.5 mile 20 bridges Manhattan swim on July 12, 2026; now the English Channel awaits!

❤️🩹 But this publish is not nearly private milestones. I’ve anchored my time and these huge bodily efforts to a a lot bigger goal. I’m swimming to lift funds for the Wash U Medicine drug trials unit, supporting world-leading analysis to cease Alzheimer’s illness earlier than signs even start. Alzheimer’s is a problem nobody chooses, and it has deeply impacted my circle of relatives. I’m dedicating each single stroke to funding a remedy.
