RENO, Nevada – The Utah State Aggies men’s basketball team (13-1, 3-0 MW) wrapped up 2024 with a success, completing an unblemished three-game road series with a 69-64 triumph over Nevada at the Lawlor Event Center.
 
In the second half, the Aggies mounted a significant comeback, ignited by a sequence of 17 consecutive points from fifth-year guard Ian Martinez, who was responsible for 17 of the squad’s 19 points in the closing seven minutes to clinch the victory.

The Wolf Pack narrowed USU’s lead to as little as two points, but the Aggies sealed the game with 4-for-4 shooting from the free-throw line in the final minute. Overall, USU outscored Nevada 41-31 in the second half.
 
Utah State effectively capitalized on fast-break opportunities, outscoring Nevada 20-3 on the transition. The Aggies also dominated in the paint, outscoring the Wolf Pack 30-22.
 
Sophomore forward Tucker Anderson delivered another impressive scoring performance, netting 16 points along with a rebound and three assists. He shot 5-of-9 from the field and finished a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Utah State achieved a shooting percentage of 52.2 percent (24-of-46) from the field, 40.0 percent (8-of-20) from the three-point line, and 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the charity stripe. In comparison, Nevada finished the game with a shooting rate of 42.1 percent (24-of-57) from the field, 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from three-point land, and 75.0 percent (9-of-12) from the free-throw line.
