First-ever Brooklet Tomato Festival brings competitors, meals and household enjoyable

BROOKLET, Ga. (WTOC) – Giant tomatoes, movie star judges and loads of South Georgia allure are coming to Brooklet this month as Strickland Farms prepares to host the group’s first Tomato Festival.

The inaugural occasion will happen Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Strickland Farms Garden, situated at 5639 Brooklet Denmark Road.

Held beneath the farm’s pecan bushes, organizers say the pageant will have fun native agriculture, household leisure and pleasant competitors whereas marking the grand opening of Strickland Farms’ Pick Your Own Produce Fields and the beginning of the Watersville Station Farmers Market season.

One of the pageant’s largest points of interest would be the Tomato Contest, the place native growers can compete for prizes in 4 classes:
