Sara & Ryan celebrated with playful puppies, horses, and a stunning pond on their autumn wedding day in Virginia – I am delighted to be a Purcellville wedding photographer!
Why Choose Rhinehart Photography?
Jim and I collaborated for Sara and Ryan’s wedding. Jim covered the festivities while I managed all the behind-the-scenes tasks (editing, designing albums, corresponding, planning the wedding day timeline, etc). We’ve been friends for more than a decade, and he has even held my rope while I hung 20 feet off the ground rock climbing! I trust this guy, and I am genuinely amazed by the photos of Sara & Ryan!
Sara mentions, “While browsing through Lisa and Jim’s portfolios, I immediately felt reassured that our photos would be gorgeous if we partnered with them! I was eager to witness them perform their magic on our wedding day. On the actual day, I was astounded by how effortlessly Jim captured photos. He was present everywhere at once but in a very natural, unobtrusive manner.”
Ryan adds, “Working with both Lisa and Jim was such a pleasure! They made the entire process seamless, with excellent communication and organization throughout. It was such a relief knowing we didn’t have to stress about photography on our wedding day. Getting to know Jim ahead of time made it feel like we simply had a friend capturing our special moments that day.”
Sara beams, “Collaborate with Rhinehart Photography if you want to relax on the day of your event. They possess incredible talent and are easy to work with!”
Furry Companions
Ryan grins, “We had our dogs, Charlie and Dany, boarded close by at Olivia’s Pet Services, and they kindly brought the dogs to Sylvanside Farm ahead of our ceremony so that they could be included in the photos! We would have loved for them both to stay during the ceremony, but Charlie is a bit of a momma’s girl, and she couldn’t stay still until she was in her mom’s embrace, haha!”
He continues, “It was comical that when we attempted to get them to pose for pictures, Dany, the usually very calm one of the two, showed no desire to remain still, instead having the time of her life running around the open grassy area while Charlie sat and waited patiently. We never managed to capture a posed shot, but we always believe that candid moments are the best regardless.”

Ryan chuckles, “No one understands me like Sara does. It may have taken her a while to appreciate my sarcasm, but she’s cracked that code, haha! With Sara, I have discovered my soulmate. We each have our unique personalities and our own
interests, but it’s been astonishing to me just how aligned we are regarding our convictions and principles. I’ll always remember the sensation when Jim informed me I could finally pivot during our initial glance and witness just how stunning Sara appeared in her gown, realizing that in only a few moments, I would officially be united with the woman of my aspirations.
Sara beams, “Whenever I’m with Ryan, I feel that cozy sensation of being at home, even when I’m not there. He makes me feel secure, appreciated, and understood. I realized he was the one when we delved into deeper conversations on our third date. It felt like I could confide in him about anything without any judgment. We do engage in our serious discussions, but no one else can make me bust out laughing the way he does. I genuinely admire his humor. He’ll recall things I share with him and then turn them into humor when I least expect it. I loved having our guests (especially those who hadn’t met him or didn’t know him intimately) see how marvelous he is.
She chuckles, “Our wedding was distinctive in that Sylvanside Farm is quite secluded, enveloped by twisting dirt paths. It’s tranquil, expansive, and truly breathtaking in the autumn. During our ceremony, we apparently had deer strolling behind us as we recited our vows!”

Sara reflects, “I envisioned a typical autumn wedding, and it turned out as splendidly as I had anticipated! Our florist perfected the hues. The temperature was slightly brisk but not sufficient to confine us indoors. After the ceremony, the incredible catering team provided me with a mug of warm cider to enjoy while I socialized with friends and family. It was an autumn fantasy realized.”
She continues, “We indulged and engaged a string quartet to perform various enjoyable covers during the ceremony and cocktail hour. A dear friend from college officiated our ceremony; she did an excellent job tailoring it for us. My mother came forward and shared a family custom with our attendees. My father presented me with gorgeous earrings the evening prior to our wedding, which I wore while walking down the aisle with him.”

Cocktails: Elegant & Enjoyable
Sara mentions, “I truly desired our cocktail hour and reception to incorporate some unique elements that reflected Ryan and me. We opted to name our specialty beverages after our two pets. One was a delightful punch named after Dany, who is very charming herself. We also offered a zesty margarita for our spirited (and sweet) Charlie. For our desserts, we had ube cheesecake and calamansi bars to showcase some Filipino tastes; and we provided whoopie pies from my favorite location in Pennsylvania where I was raised. I take pleasure in crafting when possible, so I created the signage for the bar and our dessert display.”
Reception: Purcellville Wedding Photographer
Ryan chuckles, “We discovered Sylvanside Farm just like most individuals find anything nowadays: through Google. I viewed images of it and thought there was no chance this venue could be as stunning in reality as it appears online; I learned that lesson through apartment and house searching, haha! However, this time, it was equally as enchanting as it was online.”
He follows up, “We appreciated that the Stone Barn offered a lovely option for a rainy day, plus an excellent area for the cocktail hour distinct from where we would hold the reception. My favorite aspect of the venue was ascending the stairs into the charming Poplar Barn, entirely constructed from wood with exquisite high ceilings. It felt like it was lifted from a Harry Potter movie.”
Sara reflects, “We had several friends recommend Loudoun County for its vineyards and wineries. Ultimately, we narrowed our options to two farms in the vicinity. Ryan remarked, ‘I didn’t even realize I enjoyed farms, but I do!’ Sylvanside is incredibly diverse. There’s an orchard, a garden, a pond, a space for the horses, and a few cottages, not to mention the two barns. I particularly adored the barns. I was just as thrilled about our backup plan inside the barn as I was for the outdoor ceremony. Either way, I felt like we couldn’t make a mistake. Also, autumn is my favorite time of year, and I was eager for the stunning foliage.”

How Delightful It Is!
Sara beams, “After everything was finalized, it was a truly marvelous sensation. Nothing significantly altered for us, as we had already cohabitated and all of that. However, it felt as though we had commemorated with our beloved ones and created the most cherished moments. And now we could reflect together and relish life in a serene, we-no-longer-have-to-arrange-a-wedding sort of manner.”
