I extend my greetings to you in the precious name of Jesus! It is Monday morning, the 23rd of December, 2024, and this is your companion, Angus Buchan, with a reflection for today.

We turn to the Gospel of Mark 3:35, Jesus proclaims:

“For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”

Do you recall the narrative? Jesus was addressing the crowd and they came to interrupt Him. They stated, “Your mother and Your brothers are outside and they are waiting for You.” That was when He inquired, “Who is my mother and my brothers?”

You know, I came across a beautiful account of a young Muslim schoolgirl. She must have been in her teens, and she discovered Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was immensely thrilled, but she hailed from a deeply devout Muslim household. She received a small Gideon’s Bible, a little blue one, and she would conceal it beneath her pillow. At nighttime, prior to sleeping, she would read it and pray to her Jesus, and in the morning, early before the house woke up, she would have her devotions once again and then hide the Bible under her pillow when she left for school.

One day, her father came home during the day, he needed something and entered her room, discovering her Bible. When she returned from school, he was enraged and informed her that unless she repented and ceased this nonsense and began to follow Allah and be a good Muslim girl, he would disown her. She asserted, “I cannot because I am now part of His family.” Consequently, her father cast her into the street, quite literally, with nothing, and she endured a very challenging time. Eventually, Christians brought her into their family, and she matured and attended Bible College. I believe she is currently teaching the Word. Yet, the remarkable aspect is, she never ever renounced Christ. Her mother used to meet her beneath a bridge in a discreet manner where none of the family was aware and they would weep together, sharing food and clothing. After many years, her father realized that she was not abandoning Jesus and she unquestionably was part of His family, and through her lifestyle, eventually, she was permitted to return home and visit her father. She had the opportunity to lead her dad, mother, and siblings to Jesus Christ.

I want to convey to you today, my dear friend, your father, your brother, and your sister, are those who worship and live in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. There is absolutely no doubt about it! Yes, we must love our biological family, but we must not be confined because they choose not to follow Jesus. Each one of us needs to encounter Him on a personal level. Why don’t we emulate what that beautiful Muslim lady has accomplished? Through her lifestyle, she introduced her entire family to Jesus Christ.

God bless you and have a marvelous day,
Farewell.
