“I was like a newlywed in 2013. I came in with fresh eyes to Ashland. I fell in love with it,” Tricarico stated of her “Ashland” e-book. “It’s eclectic. There’s Lithia Park, parades, (the) Growers’ Market, and all those are in the Ashland book. I was just in love with this town, and still am.”

Perfecting the craft

Although lots of her books function nature, Tricarico doesn’t take into account herself a nature photographer.

“I am more a people, animal and bird person,” she stated. “I love architecture, (I’m) not good with landscapes, better with people, animals, buildings, and that’s why I have 45 photographers.”

Whether it’s “Ashland” or “Oregon Waterfalls,” or one of many different volumes crafted in between, Tricarico says images is all about timing.

“A friend once told me that ‘You don’t take a photo, you give a photo,’ and I’ve kept that in mind; a picture of a friend, a wedding, or a waterfall,” she stated.

Learn your digital camera

Tricarico’s finest recommendation for aspiring photographers is to be taught by doing and to not shoot solo.

“Learn your camera. Go with friends, join a club,” she stated. “Enjoy the moment; take it all in; do not just worry about the shot. You’re there to experience it.”

Tricarico hopes her books will encourage space residents to go see the sights she’s captured.

“I hope it will encourage people to go and look. Not everyone is going to go with a camera, they’re just going to go and breathe it in,” she famous. “The people that buy this book are not necessarily photographers. They’re just going to say, ‘Oh, my gosh, I’d love to see that.’”
