Fiesta Village Family Fun Park in Colton publicizes closure – NBC Los Angeles

A Colton staple that’s served as a family-friendly vacation spot for many years introduced it is going to be closing its doorways this week.

Fiesta Village Family Fun Park introduced that after 50 years, it’ll shut after the weekend. The announcement was made on the attraction’s web site, the place it introduced that its ultimate days could be July 10 and 11.

“We invite you to bring your family and friends to celebrate Fiesta Village one last time—to laugh, play and create one final memory together,” the announcement learn.

According to the park’s management, rising working prices, low attendance and competitors from bigger amusement parks are behind the closure. During its peak, the park welcomed 3,000 company throughout its weekend operations; these figures have been down to a couple hundred.

“Right now, functioning the park, we are 25 employees,” mentioned Maria Blanco, the Vice President of Operations of Fiesta Village. “We were at 60 and dropped to 30.”

Fiesta Village boasted eight acres of family-friendly enjoyable that included a miniature golf course, a skate park, an arcade and carnival rides. It first opened in 1974 and in 2002, was bought by Michelle O’Brien, who has been working it ever since.  

“It’s a change that needed to happen,” Blanco mentioned. “We wish we could be here longer and forever, but sometimes change is necessary.”
