Summer time trespassers push Topeka swim membership to amplify safety measures

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Briarwood Swim Club says it has been coping with repeated trespassing and vandalism all through the summer time, with incidents occurring as continuously as as soon as per week.

Board President Derrick Baxter stated the injury has included furnishings and tools being thrown into the pool.

“Sometimes, chairs or tables or things like that have been thrown in the pool. And we got tires that we use for swim team, and stuff like that, so then it becomes a retrieval,” Baxter stated.
