New England is filled with iconic journey experiences and Conde Nast Traveler lately highlighted the individuals who convey six of them to life.

In the article 50 states, 50 people, the publication honors the employees making a distinction within the tourism business by spearheading state-defining journey experiences in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

“We hope that the next time you travel across America, you’ll feel inspired to peer behind the scenes—and say hello to the people who make your favorite journeys unforgettable,” wrote Conde Nast Traveler.

In Massachusetts, Michael Lepage has been portraying Paul Revere for 3 many years. The historic re-enactor (who’s is retiring this summer time) instructed the publication, “I love all the interactions with an audience. Especially seeing kids engaged and asking questions, knowing they’ll carry this forward—that warms my heart.”

Rhode Island is known for its Gilded Age mansions and Patricia Miller, chief conservator on the Preservation Society of Newport County since 2015, is their protector. “Just about everything that you see in these homes is under our purview,” she instructed CNT concerning the 10 properties that make up the Newport Mansions. She has even assisted HBO’s manufacturing crew with units throughout filming of “The Gilded Age.”

During fall in New Hampshire, the main focus is on leaf peeping and Jim Salge, former meteorologist at Mount Washington Observatory and longtime foliage reporter for Yankee Magazine, is thought for his foliage predictions. He research the forests many months forward of time, and instructed CNT, “It’s really important to get the timing right, especially when people fly in from all over to see it.”

Folks who eat at Abel’s Lobster on Mount Desert Island in Maine will discover 64-year-old Tammy Hustus, who calls herself “the mastah lobstah pickah.” She separates the meat from the shell whereas chatting with clients and dealt with greater than 16,000 lobsters final season. “I have hands of steel, I think,” she instructed CNT.

Vermont is world-famous for snowboarding and Matt Folts, head snowmaker at Bromley Mountain Resort, works 12-hour workdays making the snow. “Eighty percent of our terrain has artificial snowmaking or man-made snow on it,” he instructed CNT. “If we don’t make snow, the ski areas cannot open. It’s [Vermont’s] largest industry, so obviously it’s what keeps us alive.”

Connecticut is all about pizza and Bill Pustari, proprietor of New Haven’s Modern Apizza (ranked No. 1 on the Connecticut Pizza Trail), instructed the publication, “We’ve always been where the locals go. [Now] we actually have customers who fly up from the Carolinas just to do a pizza tour—they land in the morning, go Uber around to all the pizza places, then get back on the airplane.”
