PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern Department of Athletics has introduced the hiring of Jake Alexander as the subsequent Head Swimming Coach for the Firehawks.

Alexander involves UT Southern after spending the 2025-26 season at Oakland City University, the place he was chosen because the inaugural head coach for the Mighty Oaks males’s and girls’s swimming packages. During his tenure with the Wabash Valley Swim Team, Alexander helped rework this system, rising its roster from roughly 20 swimmers to greater than 50 athletes. His management and dedication to athlete improvement established a robust tradition of success whereas serving to swimmers enhance each out and in of the pool.

Before taking up as head coach of Wabash Valley, Alexander served as an assistant coach with an age-group membership program in Huntingburg, Indiana, in addition to the Vincennes Swim Team. Throughout his teaching profession, he has labored extensively with swimmers of all ages and talent ranges, emphasizing technical improvement, aggressive excellence, and private development.

Alexander started his aggressive swimming profession at Southridge High School, the place he was a part of 4 consecutive Pocket Athletic Conference championship groups. As a senior, he captured the convention title within the 100-yard breaststroke.

Following highschool, Alexander continued his swimming profession at Vincennes University. During his two seasons with the Trailblazers, he certified for the NJCAA National Championships in each years.
