TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo ladies’s swimming and diving head coach Jacy Dyer introduced the hiring of Mia Cheatwood as an assistant coach for this system on Tuesday.

“I am so excited for Mia to join the Rocket family,” stated Dyer. “I’ve known her a long time and love her drive, competitiveness, intelligence, and passion. Not only is Mia from Toledo, she is one of the best swimmers in the country. She will be able to bring so many strengths to this program with her elite level of swimming and her love for Toledo. Cheatwood joins the Rockets after a four-year swimming profession at West Virginia (2022-24) and Louisville (2024-26). Throughout her time as a student-athlete, Cheatwood competed in three NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships and earned All-American honors with the Cardinals in 2025 and 2026. She additionally scored within the 200 breaststroke within the 2026 NCAA Championships, rating 10th within the nation.
