Calypso Cafe Reopens Charlotte Ave Location

Calypso Cafe, a Nashville staple in contemporary, quick informal fare since 1989, will totally reopen its second location at 3307 Charlotte Ave in West Nashville this week.  

Upon its official reopening on May 14, Calypso Cafe will supply dine in service for lunch and dinner six days per week, with seating for 70 within the eating room in addition to outside patio seating. Bar service with native draft and packaged craft beer choices can be provided within the coming weeks.  

“We’ve made some physical improvements to the space and streamlined service, which will allow our guests to enjoy the fast, fresh, and delicious experience they associate with Calypso Cafe,” stated Parker. “I’m especially excited about the bar and patio seating, allowing guests to enjoy the space in different ways. We’ve had a lot of neighbors and regulars come through for takeout, and they ask often when we’ll be ready to open fully. I’m so excited that the time is here!”  

The reopening has been a deliberate, phased course of, initially introduced in January 2025 when proprietor David Parker when he took over the household enterprise. In current years, the Charlotte Ave location was a prep and catering kitchen after closing to the general public throughout the pandemic. Parker launched takeout and supply in August 2025 whereas working towards dine-in service.  

Joining the Berry Hill location at 700 Thompson Lane, hours for each areas are Monday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.  

Calypso Cafe is understood for its rotisserie rooster with home Jamaican Curry and Caribbean BBQ sauces, Cuban black beans, Callaloo greens, and a bunch of different contemporary sides, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts, all freshly made. Meals are washed down with a perfected model of Nashville’s beloved fruit tea. Calypso Cafe was based in 1989 by Allison and Phil Brooks, set out to assist Nashvillians ‘eat better, be better.’ In 2025, the model modified fingers for the primary time in its practically 4 a long time when the Brooks’ retired and David and Sally Parker, their cousins, took over the household enterprise.
