54th annual Saint Clare Seafood Festival serves up fish, enjoyable and extra

WAVELAND, Miss. (WLOX) — Memorial Day weekend kicked off in Waveland Saturday with the 54th annual Saint Clare Seafood Festival.

There was loads of crawfish and fried fish for everybody, alongside crafts, distributors and reside music.

The Seafood Festival is the first fundraiser for St Clare Catholic Church.

John Zimmerman runs the Cajun Specialties sales space promoting pasta and Barbecue. His household began the pageant again in 1972, and he’s planning to passing the torch to his son beginning subsequent yr.

“Probably my grandmother and my mom would come back and haunt me if I didn’t. But no, seriously, we like helping the church. Next year, I’m going to be away, so I kind of told him next year I’m not going to be here so you’d better pay attention this year. But he’s been doing this for a number of years and he’s doing a great job,” he mentioned.

Saturday was Saint Clare’s their twelfth annual basic automobile present. On Sunday, they’ll host their first-ever Jeepin’ by the Beach Bash.
