Maryland highschool forfeits 2 softball video games after alleged “inappropriate actions” towards Black participant

The varsity softball workforce for Chesapeake High School in Maryland was compelled to forfeit two video games after what Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) officers described as “inappropriate actions” directed at a Black participant throughout a sport final week.

The alleged incident occurred throughout a sport at Crofton High School and was captured on a livestream. In a portion of that video, gamers may be heard making monkey animal noises whereas a Black scholar was pitching for Crofton.

Following disciplinary actions, Chesapeake High was compelled to forfeit the video games attributable to a scarcity of eligible gamers remaining, in response to AACPS spokesperson Bob Mosier.

Chesapeake forfeited its dwelling convention sport in opposition to Northeast on Monday and can be set to forfeit its sport in opposition to South River.
