Interim Head Coach David Hill Resigns at NAIA University of Tennessee Southern

David Hill, who was named Interim Head Coach of the lads’s and ladies’s swimming program after the resignation of head coach Trevor Trimpe in December, has now resigned from the place.

Hill started his first season on employees in 2025 with the Firehawks packages as an assistant males’s and ladies’s swimming coach, before being promoted to interim after Trimpe’s resignation.

This previous season, the UT Southern males’s staff completed 2nd out of 5 groups on the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships, whereas the ladies’s staff completed 4th out of 6 packages. The ladies’s staff managed that end with solely 4 swimmers competing.

The males’s staff earned silver-medal finishes in all 5 of the meet’s relays and managed to have every swimmer return for finals every night time of the championships.

In December, after over two seasons as Head Coach of the lads’s and ladies’s swimming packages on the University of Tennessee Southern, Trimpe resigned.

Trimpe started his teaching tenure in 2023 with UT Southern, having beforehand been the top coach at fellow NAIA faculty Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, for the 2022-2023 season, and serving as head coach at West Virginia Tech in 2017-2018.

The males’s program did ship one swimmer to the NAIA National Championships this previous March, as freshman, soon-to-be sophomore Janos Kadar competed within the 200 free and 500 free, ending thirty third and thirty fourth, respectively.

Hill graduated from the University of Kansas in 2020, based Elite Swim Training (EST), and has authored 17 books, together with The College Swimming Guide: Recruiting, Training, and Thriving – The Roadmap to College Swimming Success.

The program is now looking for a brand new head coach.
