Momentary Pause of Visa Operations

Effective May 18, 2026, the U.S. Embassies in Juba, South Sudan; Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo; and Kampala, Uganda have briefly paused all visa companies.  This pause contains purposes for immigrant visas in addition to nonimmigrant visas for vacationers, enterprise vacationers, college students, change guests, and all different nonimmigrant classes.  Affected visa candidates have been notified.  We will replace our web site when appointment scheduling resumes and inform candidates whose appointments have been rescheduled.

Can I schedule an appointment?
At this time, no visa appointments may be scheduled at U.S. Embassy Juba, U.S. Embassy Kinshasa, or U.S. Embassy Kampala.  We will replace our web site when appointment scheduling resumes and inform candidates instantly once they can reschedule.

Why are appointments being cancelled?
The Department of State is dedicated to making sure that its visa course of upholds the very best requirements for U.S. public well being and security.  In mild of the continued Ebola outbreak, the Department is briefly pausing all visa operations in South Sudan, the DRC, and Uganda.
